I've had the Rainx too and they were incredible... for about a month, then they were no better than the cheapest blade you can find. I think the worst thing for any blade is snow and ice. It can be brutal. I just ordered a pair of the Silblade Unis in 24" for $32.48 from Amazon. I'm hoping they do better than the Rainx.
Cool Jim,I've never used their washer fluid, but I keep our windshields treated with Rain-X.
Phil, try the washer fluid, it treats the windshield same as the original stuff, but all you do is fill the bottle and use it like regular washer fluid. You don't have to do any of the applying and buffing it off like the original stuff.
I have to agree with Jim, the Rain-X washer fluid is great. It hasn't frozen on me since I started using it about 5-6 years ago.
I use the washer fluid with rain-x too! It's pretty amazing stuff. Sometimes I don't even have to use my wipers! I think it was $1.49 for a gallon at Wal-Mart. I know it wasn't Rain-X brand, but more like a washer fluid with Rain-X in it.
For those who have never heard of Silblades or are always looking for a good windshield wiper take a look at SilBlade, Lasts Years Not Months!
Best wipers I've ever used and have a 5 year warranty. I've had a set on the wifes Explorer for 5 years now and still work as well as when they were new. The set on my truck is 2 years old and still work like new, and it sits outside every day. They don't even compare to the ones like Bosch or other stuff from the parts store. Passing along some info...
Have you installed these on your other trucks or just the Explorer?
I am seriously considering these for my next set!
Dang, just put some Michelins on last week. They only last one year for me here in New Mexico. Think I'll give them a try next time.
I bought a set of the Michelin wipers and they were the worst wiper I have ever used. They fell apart in less than 6 months!

Like Pete said it works just as well without the work. I wonder how well it would work if both were done?

Same here Pete my fuel froze but my washer fluid didn't
Any of you guys going for the 22 inch blades ??? I had 22's with regular off the shelf blades, just wondering, might be grabbing a set tonite, mine are shot. Anybody got the source off Amazon??
I just paid about $32 for a pair of 24" silblade unis, so far they're working great... Now today Amazon has a buy one, get one free deal (Feb 22). I picked up a pair for my Jetta TDI for $16. Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone else was in the shopping mood today.
Yea, not too impressed with the Michelin wiper blades. One would think that a company that makes great tires would have a pretty darn good wiper. Oh well. Gona try the silblade next time.
Nice. BOGOF! Makes me wish I needed another set. But they're so good I don't need another set.
Right... Now lets meet back here after the next ice storm and compare notes. That's typically what tears up any wiper I've ever used. If they survive that then we will need the 5 year reunion to see how accurate their claims are.
Frankly, the price for the Silblades are not really much different than the Rain-x or any other "premium" blade. I think I've tried them all and none live up to their claims yet. I hope the Silblades do.
I hope you guys like them, otherwise everyone will hate me for the recommendation. It's the only one that's ever worked for me personally. I don't get tons of ice here but we do get some. That's not what kills my blades, it was always the sun.
I need new ones, and just looked on amazon and found them, so many which ones do i need to get, i'am willing to give them a try. I put on one's that are longer than stock, do i need to go measure?

Just placed my order for my truck and my wife's Honda. Thanks for the heads up! 16 bucks to my door, can't beat that!
