Fuel Problem?

Had a simular problem a couple weeks ago and did two things to correct it. One, the fuel line was getting a vapor lock. Make sure the line doesn't have any kind of hump in it, or a rise in it between the tank and the pump. Air gets trapped in the rise and causes the fuel pump to lose prime. I also had a loose coil wire causing intermittant firing problems. I don't know which corrected the problem, but it runs great now.

Well...we ended up springing for a new carb. The old one was leaking from every gasket and was a mess. We need it up and running quick so we had the shop put in a brand new one and wow...what a difference! I am all for keeping the truck as stock as possible, but with the new carb, it jumps to life on the first crank and runs so much better.
