Considering buying..

Hey everyone,
I am strongly considering trading in my 330i BMW for an 02 Ford Ranger FX4 they have at my local dealership. It has a bit over 80k on it, but seems mechanically sound. It has an accident history...front bumper damage and the air bag deployed but it was repaired.

Anyway, I really want a truck...but this BMW has been very reliable to me. This is my first truck and I know nothing about Ranger maintainence. Could anyone give me some information on the longevity and reliability of these trucks? Thanks to anyone helping out!

p.s. - I know this is not the Ranger forum, but I couldn't find the Ranger forum anywhere, what's the deal with that??

why would you trade a 330i for a truck?!?!?!?! do you really need a truck instead of a beamer?

anyway, rangers are good little trucks. easy to work on(Easier then the beamer) and they'll last a lifetime.

I just really want a truck now...I dunno?
I have a few reasons. I have a little jon boat that i rely on my friends SUV to tow, and I am sick of getting stuck in the snow, and I just like the feeling of driving a truck.

I actually want to retain a little bit of fuel economy, and its my first truck so I have plenty of time to buy a bigger truck later. I am in college and have to drive 250 miles to go home, so I'll take the 21mpg for the time being. Also, price.

this is true... well, your choosing a fx4, so its not the stupid looking ranger. id say go for it. but MAKE SURE the frame is straight. check the tires for uneven wear, and take a look at the tierod ends and make sure theyre threaded close to the same amount on both sides.
