Hi, am new user, I have 47 p/u box &cab, also 88 ranger frame to mount on. After reading diff posts I think it will a good project to do, want it to a day-to-day, driver. Will take photos and will post
Cool project. I would definatly love some pics and info on this. I am currently (well once all this white crap goes away) investigating what modern frame set up will fit under my 47 1 ton.
Good choice on cab and body. I'm presently building my own frame for under my 40 cab. Where you might run into problems is at the firewall. The whole cab pinches at this point so fitment to the Ranger frame might be a problem. I was going to use a free S10 frame I had but would have either cut the frame or had the frame jut out into the fender relief area. I'll be looking forward to this build.
For all:
The distance from front cab mount to front cab mount across at the firewall is 32 inches. The distance from rear cab mount to rear cab mount across is also 32 inches with a space between front and back being about 50 inches. If anybody wonders if their cab will fit on a frame you can use these measurements to make a square frame. I'm putting this here so you don't do what I did and waste your time lifting the cab over a frame it "looks like it will fit on".
