1000 W might be overkill for a laptop. I do have 250 W inverter that is pretty close to the size of that cover.
BTW I had it plugged to lower 12v outlet, what was originally for cigarette lighter and at start up the inverter would always cut off at too low voltage. Than I plugged it to upper 12V outlet and it doesn't happen anymore unless I have hard start.
