I just replaced mine and didn't have to preheat them, just screw them. Remember to use anti-sieze on the threads.

Yah spark plug tightness should be fine. There is a spec on them, but I can't think of it off the top of my head, and I'm too lazy to check... ;-)

I'll second the use of anti-seize on the threads. No reason to preheat, where the hell did you get that idea? I can see testing them before install, but preheat just doesn't sound right. Also use some dielectric grease on the wiring end to keep that clean. Vaseline will work too, something to keep the corrosion off the electrical contacts.

I'm pretty sure they were taking about testing them by lighting them up. Not for the sake of the plugs, but just to make sure that they worked before putting them in the engine.

Great to hear, did you have crimp any bullet connectors on or were the stock wire ends still good?

factory torque setting for the GP's is 12ft/lb so set it to snug and then about one flat, so looking at the gp, the hex head on it, rotate it one flat beyond snug.

I think that was someone talking about pre heating the Autolite plugs before you installed them.

That is kinda a moot point, very few people will take the chance running Autolite plugs.
