My truck seems to have a dead spot in the throttle from about 1/2 to 3/4 its not there all the time just comes and goes started about a month ago.If the pedal is goin bad should it throw SES light on? Any ideas???
This would point to the TPS (Throtle Position Sensor) and IVS (Idle Validation Switch) both part of the Go Pedal Assembly ... but someone else probably has more knowledge of this and help you fix it..
It should, or so I would think. I've ran diags, on alot of cars and its always threw a code when it was acting up. I wouldn't think our trucks would be different.
Just something I've heard, trouble codes sometimes only come on when there is a problem that is causing emission problems. It could miss like crazy and if there are no bad emissions caused (not likely ...but), no codes would come up.
These are the only codes I found for the TPS. They may not set with what feels like a "dead spot". The TPS is just a potentiometer and the PCM may not be able to discern a dead spot from tapping on the pedal.
FYI : The IVS contacts are normaly open and close to signal "off idle" to PCM when pressure is applied to the throttle pedal. If the IVS contacts do not close the PCM ignores any TPS signals.
Thanks guys think I will try a different pedal assembly it has to be it I borrowed a used one think I will clean it up before I put it in might take some pot readings while I have both of them out Now it just needs to warm up and dry up so I can do it LOL

You don't have to take the whole assembly out to change the TPS if you have a separate IVS. See the link I posted.
Thanks for the link Robin after reading it I might save my used pedal assembly and go the route you did I am going to check on it tomorrow
THANKS AGAIN THIS SITE IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
