Heater working intermitantly, why?

My heater was set on 90 and blew hot for a few seconds then cold. and it stayed cold the rest of the trip even after cycling through the temp settings and actions, defrost, a/c and such. Whats going on? 6.0 diesel 2004

Thanx

Either a vacuum leak or a bad valve to the heater core.

Did that heater valve today, see pics.

Just a nice gush of coolant into the COP's and boots #2-4.... Cover those up so you don't have the same mess I did.

Yep and they are cheap. I had the rare one that was on only 5% of the excursions built.
