e4od conversion

I plan on swapping in an e4od in both of my trucks in place of a c-6 . One is a 460 and the other will be a 7.3 diesel. What is the difference in the bellhousing and calibration between those two, and I will need to use a cable driveb speedo. Does anyone know where I can find out if the newer transmissions still have a provision for the cable. It is my understandin that the 97 and later models are best as far as uprgrades and durability. I will be using a bauman stand alone computer to run the electronics.

After a little research I found that the 460 and diesel bolt patterns are the same , but the diesel transmission has no provisions for a starter mount. On the 7.3 the starter bolts to the block.

The stand alone computer? How much is it and where do I get it? So can I use this device, to run my e4od if I swap my 302(1991) for a 351 from an 82? I'd like to get away from the engine being run by a computer. And if I can still use my e40d and not have to look for a AOD, so much the better. thanks. being a 4x4 I guess it will cut down on my options. PS I'm in the land of ice and snow(Canada) will it be available here?

I bought the Baumannator computer. They are located in South Carolina. It is around 399 US dollars. Check out their web site. I think you may need to replace the solenoids in your transmission to the 92 and later type. Not positive so check with them. It comes with a software which is a simple program but it will let you change just about anything. Wiring splices into your old harness and you plug the controller in and download and or monitor transmition info via a 9 pin cable using a laptop. You can also take the controller out of the vehicle and use your home computer if you prefer. E-mail with any questions if you want anymore info. I haven't swapped either of my trucks yet so I haven't done a road test .
