Finally on the road. Did about 450 miles yesterday with the trailer. Averaged around 9 mpg......had a pretty good climb up the grapevine. Im very happy with my first diesel. Ill keep you updated!
grapevine is a killer......should have stopped in Johnson Valley for KOH....take it you are coming up 15 through Vegas then across 70 into Denver....some decent climbs through there too....careful if the weather get crappy through Vail
Took the 5 up to Oakland and am taking the 80 across to Michigan. We made it to just past Reno today...only covered about 200 miles due to a late start. Had a pretty steep climb up to 8000 ft and a pretty rough road downthe other side. Spending alot of time in passing gear pulling uphill at about 2800rpm doing around 50mph......chewing up the fuel! The drive is going well and I am taking it slow......but ill be glad to get to my
new place! And don't worry JAT.....I have the number!!
I'm headed to Perry. Made it through Nevada today and into Utah! Caming out in Wendover Utah and hitting the casino in a few! Truck did well, about 10mpg today average, needed to be topped of with oil. I think I developed a small leak in the rear main....maybe due to all the high RPM's running up the mountains!
Ive been through both states previously.....at least the truck will get a rest with that lack of terrain! The only place I havent been is Wyoming, and I'm curious to see how that is!
great pics...been there not long ago, that place is awesome, somebody was getting married out there when I went through...be safe...some good climbs just past SLC
Dont jump on the rear main seal leak, Our trucks like to put oil inthe valley, the valley has a drain hole that leaks out the back, giving us ALL that scary rear main leak feeling.
Climp up and look, you will most likely find oil in the valley.
If so, and if you choose, clean the oil out, place a rag in the valley way up in the front of the valley, under the HPOP, then under the turbo area, Check it 50+ miles, we will know what o rings to replace from there.
