Valve lash?

Ok, so i removed my cylinder heads, and now i have the engine all back together. I heard something about setting the valve lash? I have the 2.9L V-6. I just unbolted the rockers and springs as a whole assembaly, and re-installed them the same, and i made sure to install the pushrods in the same locations i pulled them from. Do I need to set the valve lash? what will happen if not? I thought the valve lash only needed to be adjusted if you remove the valve springs individually or replace the rods or something? Any input? I am lost

In theory, you should not have to, based on what you did. The hydraulic lifters SHOULD take up minor variations in the valve lash. But since you have it all apart now, it does not hurt to at least check them before you button it all up again. Depending on how old the engine is, the lash could have changed since it was set when new, and it's good to check that none of them have gone too far off, and correct any that are.
