My brother and I were installing the Pioneer AVIC-X920BT and rear view camera. We also put the universal steering wheel so I could still use the controls for volume and others. Well it required disconnecting the battery and also cycling the key to on (Not start engine) several times when doing the programming for the buttons. Well now we finished and truck won't start. I used a Turkey baster to suck out the fuel in the 2nd fuel filter housing next to the oil filter in engine bay. That still did not work. Any ideas ASAP would be greatly appreciated!!! THanks. We are currently inside waiting b/c it is 16 degrees F. outside! oh should i try plugging it in. I used a multimeter and both batteries are reading 12.01X volts each.
Upon cranking, the instrument cluster dims, as well as the cabin overhead lights, the digital odometer also fades away. We put jumper cables with another truck and gave it 5 minutes to start. We grounded the, head unit, the rear view camera, and the steering wheel universal interface to Ford harness that mates with the Pioneer head unit (To the BLACK wire).
Any help would be greatly appreciated in the wee hours of the night. THanks guys
I would make sure the black wire in harness is ground..other than that I am lost for an explanation not knowing anything about the accessories you installed
The Pioneer headunit does work, we were able to listen to radio, and the Ipod. We checked to see if we could play a DVD movie and it did. We also did the bypass so the Navi and DVD would work while driving. The rear view camera does work and the steering wheel controller does work. Since they are working I am assuming it is grounded. I plugged in the engine block heater and I am using a trickle charger for 1 of the 2 batteries in the engine compartment. Should I be physically connecting both batteries or if I charge one and other also charges?
After draining the fuel filter housings and charging the batteries....IT WORKED! Thank you guys and thanks Bismic for the troubleshooting-no start post!
