More Solid Axle Swap Questions
I'm planning on doing the swap right after this semester ends and i want to have everything set to go before i start. I was thinking about the radius arms brackets, i know that the arms on 78/79 trucks/broncos are alot longer than my stockers. Also the extended arms for the TTB (most of them) use the stock radius arm brackets just pushed futher back. I am going to put 6" coils on (modified coil pad on axle for 80-96 coils for additional 2" of lift) which brings total to 8", will i need to modify the drop brackets i got with the axle (off a 79 bronco and appear to be stock) for the increased amout of lift, i already planned out how i would go about doing it, just wondering if i need to.

your best bet is not modify the 79 radius arm brackets, just buy the aftermarket drop mounts (should be available from Skyjacker, Superlift) for a 6-inch lift 79. They bolt on to the stock 79 mounts and just lower them a few inches. You might need 4 degree c-bushings. I have some pics of this type setup, I'll have to dig them up.
