I am looking at puting a Spartan tunner and cat/dpf delete system on my 09 superduty. I was wondering if anyone has one or what they have heard about them. Thank you
This topic has been discussed numerous times on this forum. Lots of guys are running it. Do a quick search on the site and you'll get all the info you need.
yes spartan is great. tuner works amazingly. been running it for about 10k and my truck is at the 90k mark. run 210 as a dd. best investment yet besides the truck.
so are you saying running spartan with cat effective as a full delete? your cat wont last without the dpf on. full delete and spartan is the only way to go.

I don't understand then why Spartan would have their tuner and a dpf delete package as a valentine special. Cat delete isn't included in the package. Although I'm a newbe in all of this I find it difficult to swallow that a company like Spartan would be selling a package doomed to fail.
id buy the dd with the tunes and find another company to get intake and dpf cat delete. flopro 4'" dpf cat delete is a solid pipe to get. very popular. and if you plan on running higher then 210 tune get an intake. i use afe stage 2.
So for you guys running the Spartan now, what tune do you run when you are doing your daily driving? I am buying a Spartan in the next week or so. I never questioned this untill i talked to them. They said some run the low 210 and some run to 310 as a DD. My concern is that I have a job 1 truck and have heard that some people have had to upgrade the TCM (trans. control module) so that it didn't tear up the trans. Spartan said it was true, but you have to run it first to see if you need the TCM. I guess some run great just how they are and others have problems.
So back to my question, when you are driving to work and hauling kids around what tune runs the best? Meaning best shifting, best fuel all things considered.

Reason: typo's
run 210 as a dd and youll be fine. dont treat it like a race car and beat on it too much if you can hold back. the truck turns into a beast. 210 gives you best shifting but the higher the tune you go better the fuel mileage gets. im okay with not getting the best fuel mileage (still better then stock) and saving my trans. spartan is coming out with updates to fix shifting issues on the more hp tunes like 250 and 275. but for now 210 tune not tow, will give you a grin ear to ear. good luck.
great thanks, I'm a pretty easy driver. Due to my type of work i have to be very careful of speed tickets, so only once and while do i really get into them. What I and looking foward to the most is the better mpg's, no regen's and hope to get rid of the lag right of the line, that can be a painwhen you are pulling out onto a busy street and hit the pedal and it sits for a sec.
Hammy, I was wondering the same thing, but i decided to go with this one Phalanx Flash Console w/13 custom tunes above, Spartan DPF/CAT (DOC), S&B Cold Air Intake Kit. INCLUDES +275HP and +310HP Nutty Professor Tune.
You get all the tunes, cold air intake as well as the pipes. I might only use the 275 and 310 tune a few time, but I know if i don't get them i will always wonder and probally end up buying them later.
i wouldnt personally run 275, 310. just because its harder to go back to a lower hp tune. i tried the 250 tune and fell in love but the shifts werent the best, had a hard time coming back down to 210. the shifts on the 210 are like butter though. if you plan on doing a tc upgrade soon then sure go for 275 or 310, they even have a 300 tune which is supposed to be good. now im not saying you cant run the 275 or higher on stock trans i just wouldnt.
