Backwards Swap
I just chunked a second 302 in my 1991 F-150 with an auto/overdrive and am looking for a cheap way to keep it rolling. I have a 1988 in-line six with a 4 speed that runs well. Will the 300 bolt up to the automatic tranny? Has anyone heard of doing this backwards swap? Help me please!

you need the motormount perches off the 88, rest is bolt up, make sure to take pilot bearing out of the crank, and get a flex plate for an auto. use the wireing harness, and computer out of the 88, and happy motoring!!! one of my 4.9's has 480,000 miles, and so far only ate a rocker arm, waterpump, and a set of fuel injectors.
