Purchased a 2006 EB 2WD 5.4 with 43,000 miles a few weeks ago. Vehicle stumbles when floored hard. Found a K&N oiled filter in air box. Read numerous threads. Purchased MAF cleaner and removed MAF and sprayed, let dry and returned to service. No improvement. Have not seen a code. Got 16 miles to gallon on 500 mile trip when I picked it up. Stumbled once at a light and thought it was going to stall. Has not happened again when stopping, only when WOT is applied. Performed visial inspection of vacuum hoses. OA temp has been below 30 degrees since I have owned it. So can anyone suggest my next move. I would like to fix it my self of course. Thanks

i have the same problem on a 2006 f250 5.4 at 3000
I took this vehicle to the Dealership for service today and was quoted $98.50 for diagnosis of the vehicle. 45 miutes later they called my over the PA. I met with the advisor and he stated the PCM needed to be updated and there were no other issues. It was no charge to me. I ran the vehicle home and man she moves now! Lots of power. Tires chirpin. Completly different drive than before. Just wanted to follow up and let you know the outcome. Somany threads here have no outcom to the problem that people are trying to help them with.
