Smile npi intake ?

ive got an early 99 superduty, 4/98 on door sticker. when previous owner ( my uncle) still had truck 5.4 went south at 315,000. he found a replacement 5.4 out of a 00 model (i think) and it was swapped out. now i helped some on swap but wasnt there for all of it. got curious today and looked at the 5.4 thats in the truck now, was curious if it was a PI or not. i got lucky, it has PI stamped on head. but the intake is cast instead of plastic. was any of the PI's built with cast intake or during the swap did someone change out the intake, i asked everyone that was there but nobody seems to remember doin it (go figure). if its not a PI intake from what i understand after doin some searchin here if i swap it for a PI it will improve power ? now im not expecting no nitrous shot feel here...jus a lil improvement. will my throttle body and all the other gadgets on my current intake swap to a PI intake...or do i need a complete intake.

btw.....the whole intake is cast, not jus the coolant crossover.

The '99 intakes on F150's were still AL, they are somewhat desirable since Ford went to plastic on the PI intakes after that.

So in short yes there was 1 year Ford made AL PI intakes.

Yeah,
you've got the best intake out of all of them.
It's definitely a keeper!

A custom tune is always beneficial.
If you got a custom tune on a SCTX3 you cold load it in your truck and it should make a nice power increase.
