ford 6.9 performance
I was wondering how to get some decent power out of a ford 6.9. Id like to put one in an early 70s ford 4x4 truck. I know a guy who has an engine laying around. My choices are get some good torque out of a 6.9 and still have decent fuel mileage or get a 390 gas v8 and put a funnel over the intake for the fuel to enter...lol...anyway, the ford 6.9 made something like 340 lb-ft of torque, the 390s made 380 to around 405. Id like to make around 400 lb-ft with a 6.9, can you make that much power by just turning the pump up a few flats??....also how exactly do you turn up those pumps? Im a little more into cummins and am used to fuel plates...thanks.
