I just bough a 1956 F100 pickup.. Hs some ruff edges but it is a decent truck. Usual rust areas like the cab corner and floor pan...
It has a small block chevy , turbo 350 trans and a car rearend already in it..
I gave 2500 for it.. I know th eback wheels are crazy looking but the truck is half way on blaocks as he tool the lug nuts off the rear wheels to change the tires and never did. Truck is a running driving truck but has sit for the past year due to my friend being a big guy and cannot really fit in it. The og wheel rubbed him so he went with the little wheel and it is to hard to turn... I am smaller and will go back to the big wheel...
Hey, welcome to the site.
There is tons of info on here, fire your questions off and there is usually someone who been there before. What are your plans?
Looks like a good starting point. Welcome to the FTE and keep us informed on the progress...
Don't take the engine deal too seriously.... I too prefer the engine to match but sometimes it just does work out. Besides you have a good start for a driver. Of course I am a darksider so it doesn't bother me as much....
Nice 56. I think with a little hard work and detail this can be a really nice 56. I am always looking for 56s and buy whenever I can. You did very well for 2500. I think the drivetrain is o.k. as long as it will run and drive. Looks like an old-school 56.......cool
I love it. Ya did good getting it for sure. Hate the wheels. I could live with the engine but would get a Y-block ready and put it in eventually. The first thing that stuck out to me was the rust. Did the painter not prep the metal before the top coat? The rust around the drip rail scares me. I hope there is no rust through there. That has got to be the hardest place to chase rust there is. I love the color. I had a 57 that color and put it on a 73 F250 4X4 chassis.
very cool 56.I too have a chubbie engine but at least it runs...hey that rear bumper is really ugly. let me take that ugly thing out of 56 for you!!!(joke)
and welcome
