i am finally pulling the trigger on my dp tuner purchase.. i only have one thing i am still undecided on.. that is the low idle or quiet idle tune. i am hoping someone here is running this and could let me know if it is something worth having.. by the way i have a 97 f350 crew cab 5 spd.. 3 inch dp 5 inch back..4 inch lift on 37s.. mainly stock outside that..oh pyro and boost gauges.. thanks for any and all input
i am going with the f-5 chip and the gauge style switcher. settings.. stock, no start, 60 eco, 80 tow, 100hp, and 140 aggressive.. which i know is useless now with a stock system, but james at dp told me that is my best bet for a ''smoke'' type setting.. and i'll be honest, it will be mainly for having fun and seeing if i can get some smoke.. but i am hopefull to be getting injectors in the future. so i figured i'll just get the setting! and hopefully have some fun. i might just have to try out the low idle tune if nobody comes back with any knowledge/experience with it themselves. so i can let everyone know if it really does work/worth the purchase..
The "Quiet tune" Or what they call "Drive thru" tune is good for drive throughs, camp grounds, and having a conversation with someone while the trucks running. Heres a video. YouTube - DP Drive thru tune
thanks for that. that video really did a good job at showing the difference.. looks like i might have been a newer truck though.. i wonder if it has the same effect on on ours.
well i just placed my order and i went ahead and got the drive thru tune.. i'll be posting the results of it on our trucks as soon as i get it in the mail.
