I have a 94 F150, 302, it has AC and I believe it's a 60 amp alt. Not positive on that.
The question I have is the idler pulley is plastic, it has been replaced but is begining to deform again. Does anyone have a part number for a metal pulley? I have been unable to find one.
The pulley is the one on the right of the alt.
Your 3G alternator is the 95 amp model. Can't help on the idler but agree a lot of replacement parts are junk these days. You could try Napa or look online.

I just replaced the plastic on my 95 with another plastic one. How tight is your tensioner spring? My pulley was original with over 277k on the unit and the only reason I replaced it was cuz the bearing was chirping. I guess they wear in to the belt. Did you replace the belt? My parts store offered three different mfgs. but all were plastic, so I went middle price with a name brand bearing.
It's actually a friends truck who passed in Oct, helping his wife fix it.
He replaced the pulley with the one pictured, would have been around Feb or March 2009 if I remeber correctly. I know he didn't do the belt, he never had alot of money spent it all on his kids.
I think he did replace the tensioner though.
At anyrate I appreciate the help.
My replacement idler pulley looks like that too. So did the original one for years. I have replaced it once before about 5 years ago and within a few months it looked like that. I don't think its hurting anything.
I think on all 5.8s or bigger motors they put metal ones on. My 95 f150 with the 5.8 has a metal one on it and just replaced it about 2k miles ago along with the tensioner pulley... the bearings froze up on me going 40-45mph and it wasn't exactly the nicest feeling when i heard it happen
Don't know why, but when the counter guy & me were looking for a compatible metal replacement, you had to go up in body style. Hence the 250 rather than my 150. A couple of other things to note, is that durolast has the same bearing manufacturer as the stock. Some aren't. Some don't come with a new bolt & its support bushing. Also depending what you buy & what its suppose to fit, is the angle of the support ribs on the front & rear faces of the idler wheel. One side is cut sharply angled to clear the bracket. The metal is completly open & has no ribs.
