Headlights

The headlight only seem to work when they want to (the park lights and turn signals work). This is an 86 f250 with a Meyer plow. I have checked all of the wireing, cleaned all of the conections.

got a test light or voltmeter? check for power to and out of the dimmer switch with the headlights on. You can also make sure you have power to the switch where you select plow or truck lights

I checked the plow light switch. I did not check the dimmer switch though. Will try that tonight.

I think on mine power goes from the headlight switch to the dimmer then to the plow switch, so if you're getting power to the plow switch the dimmer and headlight switch are ok. I had to replace my dimmer switch twice and the plug to it once... lotsa salty wet boots over the past few years.

Also on a related note, Think about installing a relay system, if it's not installed already,. as the plow lights may put more amps on the headlamp circut than it's rated for and it's triggering the headlamp circut breaker. "flickering headlamp syndrome"
