As I stated in an earlier post I just bought a 1990 Bronco with a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift and (35 12.5 15 tires) that is running the stock front and rear bumpers (which I like) but yesterday I got stuck in a ditch and the only real place I had to hook a rope to was my front axle. I just put new dual stabilizer shocks on the front (it had nothing to start with) and it improved the handling easily 80 percent, Anyway I dont like the idea of hooking around the axle and hurting the stabilizer shocks Id like to have some clevis hooks to bolt to the frame, what are my options? any pictures of what you guys did and where did you get your parts from?
I got my tow hooks off an 06 F150.I drilled holes in the bottom of the frame and used grade 8 bolts.I had to cut small notches on the bottom of the bumper to clear the hooks.
I will refrain form offering my personal opinion on steering stabilizers.
Fortunately you don't have the silly "accordion" frame rails up front like the 92+ Broncos and F-series have. This makes mounting up front directly to the frame rails a bit simpler.

Yes some people dont like the Steering Stabilizer and most will agree the dual set up was a bit of over kill for my 4" lift. This is the first set Ive every installed and it only required me to drill 2 5/8's holes in the shock mount. It has really improved the on road handling of the truck and I dont do much mudding but I do like to play on the hills a bit.
Nassty: Can you get a pic of the tow hook mounting? That's just what I need to do.
I put a Skyjacker steering stabilizer on our '94 and it has reduced the wander that we had before and the truck tracks much better on rutted roads and over potholes and bumps.
I just bought some for a jeep. I think they are closer to the style I like and shouldn't be much trouble to adapt to my truck. Once they get here I will update with pictures and tell you how well they worked

I welded a piece of 1/2" flat bar in front of the crumple zone so the tow hooks would sit flat.I drilled the front bolt hole through the flat bar and the frame.
