I just disconnected it by pulling off the hose on the can and plugging it.. gives you a little more boost.. It will still work if you over boost without the rod hooked up..i believe.

well the prob i have with mine is the nipple for the line is rotted of so i already have it off i just got a new actuator and going to install it. with the line unhooked im actually losing boost once the check engine light comes on and the truck loses all its power until the light resets. im not sure if its just that or its possibly something else causing it to.
