I have a f550 dump cam hold downs 3 of them broke while idling engine was shut off emediatly i think it may have been a oil pressure problem where is oil pump located and can i just replace bearings and hold downs this is a 2000 v-10
You need to remove the oil pan to get to the pump. As far as I know the cam retainers are machined with the head and cannot be replaced without machine work. I don't think they have cam bearings like an OHV engine.
The bad news is that you can't change bearings on the cam, the head IS the bearing. You would probably need to replace the entire head (and be better off doing that anyway). And WyoCobra is correct, the retainers are machined with the head, just like you can't swap the connecting rod end caps.
Take the cam off the OTHER head and inspect the bearing surfaces. If they are perfect, it sounds like you got a clog in the other head's oil supply.
