Your 400 would be more effiecent with one big turbo. But with the 335 series engines only like so much rpm. If your looking for low end grunt then look in to a blower setup. As soon as you hit the gas the power is there. Look at the blower shop or BDS website.

Lol, we're talking about moving a 4000lb truck against something close to 2700 lb (curb weight)...

In all seriousness... if you want to race against your friends WRX, don't waste your time building up your truck just so you can say "i beat you". If you're looking to make others into rice-rocket-roadkill, I'd say you're wasting your time and money.

If this is to see what a truck can do with a turbo or twin turbos on it, I'd still say it's a waste of time.

I mean, do what you want with your truck, but at least consider ALL options before trying to mock up a turbo/NOS FE engine... There is most likely a reason not many have done this... because it's not economical, nor is it fun to deal with (when building).

If you want to beat that WRX, hop on a motorcycle... piece of cake...

I'm not much help as far as turbos go but there was a speed shop just north of seattle that use to have a 427 cammer with twin turbos and a hilborn injection system on it. Don't know if the motor ran or how much power it made but it sure looked REALLY fast just sitting there. After seeing that motor I'm sure anything turboed is possible. After all it's only $$$

He only has about a 33% weight penalty, and over double the motor in terms of cubic inches. So it is possible rather or not you decide to go far enough to make it so is another.

So if he runs in 4wd with enough boost he will kill the WRX, and I am not talking much more then 8 psi. Which should put him well above the 500HP mark, and I have seen stock headed 350 Chevys reach that with just headers and a turbo. Plus if he goes 400, and typically the M series had better flowing heads then a sbc. He is definatly with in the mark to beat a stock or mild bolt-on wrx.

I don't think you understood my point. I know it can be done. Endless money can pretty much give you whatever you want with a vehicle... I'm saying that it'd be pointless because of the time, effort and money you'de put into it.

A perfect example is a rice rocket. Buy it for 10 grand, and spend 40,000 on it...

On the other hand, you could just buy a 50,000 car which is already riced out.... stock....

I just don't see the point. Sure, I'm all for little tweaks and customization of a vehicle, but not something like this... Although, it's just my opinion. Do what you want with your vehicle. If it works, it works... If it doesn't, well... time to think up new ideas?

The Hot-Rod world has a 100% filled with cars we would have been better off buying.

So is the street custom world.

So is the off-road market.

I guess we all can't be bought not built...
