You're right- - - - it is wrong. First, these are live birds and are being manhandled. Second, they should never be dyed like that. All in the name of $$$................
reminds me of my brother 50 years ago, somehow he ended up with one of those, and he took it straight to the toilet, and tried to wash the dirt off it. even an antique 2 year old knows that is wrong!!!!
That's not the worst thing I have seen done to chickens. There was a few videos that came out a couple months back that showed what the egg industry does the all the male chickens after they are born. Pretty sick stuff.

Supposedly it's quick, and the newborn chicks never knew what hit them......
You're talking about the vid of the workers tossing them in the slicer?
Let me ask y'all something.......Is that worse than grabbing a chicken by the legs......laying the neck up on the chopping block......lopping the head off with a hatchet....and watching the headless chicken flop around for 10 to 20 seconds?
I kinda see the 'waste' argument though......Let the males grow......Make them into meat.......

.
that's why grand mom used to put them under a bushel basket and put her foot on it after the removal. if you let them flop, they get all brused up, and break their wings and legs..... an no, I don't butcher my own birds anymore. that's what Sam's Club is for

99% of the birds, turkeys too, are female. they have a wider breast, and the meat is not tough and stringy. the only time a rooster is keept is when you want eggs, the rooster intices the female to lay eggs.I could go farther on the reason for not keeping all the males, but I don't want any time off
