I just bought a sct sf3 programmer and programmed my 05 f250 to well i was stopped at a red light and it just started pouring white smoke so i pulled over and returned it to stock now smoke is gone .i was on the street setting and wasnt in the throttle at all what could be causing this other than the programmer .
How long after you programmed did you get the "smokey" experience? A couple miles? A couple days? It's pretty unusual to run into that type of situation all of a sudden. Usually, if it's going to run badly it'll do so right after programming.
I just traded my 2006 powerstroke for a 2011 f150 and had used both the superchips and sct calibrators for 81k miles. Never had any issues with either of them. I am going to put them on ebay

Well you have to remember that tuners can cause problems to be noticeable when you might not realize that you have them. The tuner could be changing timing just enough that you realize that there is a problem, but when you take it off, boom no noticeable sign of problem.
Smoke can be a number of things that is going on. Given that it seems to be related to if you have the tune uploaded, I would check for something like a leaking injector. Did you happen to smell unburned fuel? Did you happen to feel a miss?
Of course, you might have something else leaking into the exhaust causing it to smoke as well. The thing with tuners is that there are some increased temps and pressures and that might cause a leak to be more noticeable then if it was left in stock form.

Did you buy the tuner new or used and are you sure it is programmed for your stock strategy? If all is correct then I would try it again as it might be the tune did not go right the first time...try a different tune also and see what happens..
