300 head ID and options

My 300 build is almost complete including new high lift cam kit, but I have a delema re what head I should use. The head I would like to use has already been completely rebuilt, but it has pedistal bolt down rockers which I am unfamilier with. I also have a 240 and 300 head, both with udjustable stud style rockers, but both heads require a complete rebuld. Rebuilds where I am located run around $300 plus parts. Has anyone had good success using the pedistal type head with performance cams kits? My valve cover also seems to have some clearance issues with this head as well.
I have posted a couple pics of the head in my photo albums.
