I was just slappin together my valvetrane and noticed that the rocker may clear the stock tin valve covers. If at all possible I would like to use the tin covers for now as funds are limited at this time.
Has anyone else used the tin covers with roller rockers? I am using crane energiser rockers by the way. Also I am using 8.300" length pushrods with the pedistals machined .100". Geometry seemes to be bang on. Does all this sound OK so far? Just want to be sure.
In a ealier version off my present engine I had comp cams roller tip rockers on my 460 they did clear the stock tin covers, they would not clear some cheap tin chrome covers I had. worst case you may have to double up on gaskets for a short while. not the perfect solution but will may get you going for the short term . hey man, i have a set of harland sharp roller rockers and i have a set of edelbrock valve covers...the fit great. ill have to try the stockers and see if they clear....ill let ya know
Well with mild lift in the low 500 range the Harland Sharps barely clear stock truck valvecovers. When I uprgraded to a roller cam I went to factory scj aluminum covers which are a shade taller.
