i went to start it this moring and it didnt start. It has done this the last couple mornings. Its been around 0 degrees Far. so i have been pluging it in. After school opened grauge door to fine were we plug in the 2 ext. cords unpluged. (its full of sleds so the truck sit out side). Charged the batteries and pluged it in and now it just clicks and the batteries are around 14.5 volts can i just turn the key on and use a screw driver on the silenoid on the passenger side fender?

We need to find out if your Glow Plug Regulator is coming on first. the Glow plugs need to heat up. Have you used a no gell aditive in your fuel to keep it from gelling up? Why are the batts. so high? They should only be that high when the truck is running. the batts. should be around 12.5 when no pressure is put on them and then it should go down to around 11.5 when the glow plug regulator kicks in.
Have you read the cold start thread at the top of the forum page?
Yes you can just try to jumper the solenoid. no ill effects. Sounds like you might have burned up the starter or solenoid attempting to start cold, as Les mentioned, once you can get the starter to turn over, you need to look into the Glow plugs or glow plug relay. And double check battery connections on both batts, corrosion will play a huge role on these trucks.
i put the smart charger on it thats why bc i though the bats were low. I think the starter is shot but ill give the silenoid a shot. The the gpr is brand new and yes i can here it clicking on and off, and yes a anti gel attitive is being used and the wts light goes out

Reason: forgot some information
If you checked it with the charger hooked up, you were checking the charger, not the batteries. You need to make sure it's not your batteries before you start replacing starters.
