2002 4x4 relays
No power to the actuator on the bottom of the t-case. the three FOAB-14B192-AA relays I found near the firewall on the drivers side check at .3 or below with my ohm meter between terminal 87a to terminal 30 on the bench. I have power and ground with the lights on at the actual switch. I was told at some point that there are 2 more relays behind the glove box, anyone else with an 02 know where these are?
I found 3 relays right beside my cruise control. 2 in one box and one that was with 2 smaller ones.
Note that you should only have power at the two wire connector to the transfer case when the shift **** is turned, with the key in RUN. Check between the two wires, not between the wires and ground. Most people use a test light. The light should flash a number of times when to try to shift into 4WD, as the control module will make a number of attempts to shift before it gives up.
Attached is a wiring diagram. It should give you an idea of what power should be where at the relay bases. Notice that power is supplied at all times to the relay coil, and the control module grounds the other side of the coil to activate the relay. Also note that the common contact of the relay goes to the shift motor, the normally closed contact is always grounded and the normally open contact has power. When a relay is activated, it applies power to the motor through the ground path of the other relay. Each relay turns the motor the opposite direction.
Edit: In your case, where it says Four-wheel drive control module, it actually means GEM.
