anyone got a reason why my manual hub and manual shift lever style
four wheel drive dont work on my 06 f350.?? transfucase??
what are your symptoms?
dchambelin, thanks for all the good info you have beeen very helpful. i will go through the vaccum sys just like you say to! I bought the truck with the hubs already swaped out, so im not sure if those vac lines have been takin care of or not, usually truck is running when i go into 4x4 so if i have had this vac prob i would not have heard the pump runing over the engine noise...lol!

There are two tests you should do. First, put your shift lever in 2WD. Lock your hubs. Using a large screwdriver or pry bar, try to turn the front axle universal joints right at the steering knuckle behind each front wheel. If you can turn the front drive axle on either side with the hubs locked, you have a bad hub lock on that side.
Second, unlock your hubs and put your shift lever in 4WD. Try to turn the front drive line. It should not turn. If it does, you're transfer case is shot, or you have a problem in the shift linkage. The shift linkage being the more likely problem.
well guys
test 1
lock the 2 front hubs and tryed to turn the u joints and the passanger side is spinning so... the drivers side is not able to spin
test 2 4x4 engaged the front shaft does not spin
so do i replace both front hub locks and how easy is
just pop the old ones out and put the new ones in???
Try having your wife switch it back and forth from 2wd to 4wd while you tap on the motor at the transfer case. I have seen the motors freeze up from not being used.

I'm not sure what an OEM manual hub lock costs, but you should be able to get any of the aftermarket replacement hub locks. As far as I know, they're sold in pairs, so I think that's the way I'd go.
I'd also take the passenger side one out and inspect the axle shaft and needle bearings and such carefully. I don't know how many miles you have, but it's unusual in my experience for the manual hub locks to fail.
hey guys im back!! ok first of all i have not been able to locate a new pigtail conector, i have not yet made it to dealer, hopfully tomorrow, i have given a pretty good look at vac lines and conections and havent found anything tobe leaking (however i did not get tooo involved due to work and weather conditions) so my question is if the conection on the tcase motor is bad (new pigtail still needed) would this cause my vac issue! before i messed with the t case conector pump was not running all the time and hvac controls worked correctly? i realize i have to fix the tcase motor conection regaurdless but im worndering if i may have another prob. thanks again everyone
No. Your transfer case problem is not related to your vacuum problem. You have a vacuum leak. Start at the pump, plug nipple to the pump with your finger and see if the pump shuts off. If it does then the pump is working. Then reconnect that line and move to the other end. Disconnect it and plug the line to the pump, see if the pump stops. Keep working down the lines doing this until you find the line where the pump never stops running. The last line you test will be the leaking one.
thanks d, i will get back into it this week, i just dont get why the vac prob started! no prob with vac pump running untill i got the tcase motor to "do somthing"! i have pluged all vac lines that are accesable from under hood and pump did not stop, so maybe a pump?
The pump has the vacuum regulator built into it. When the vacuum reaches the preset level the pump shuts off. So, if you plug the nipple, the pump should reach it's required vacuum immediately and shut off. If it doesn't, it either isn't making vacuum at all, or the regulator switch is broken. Either way you'll need to replace the pump.
