Feb/25/2011: I greased the tie-rod ends and upper ball joints but noticed that the lower ball joints are still original - no grease nipple...
Could the lower ball joints be rusty and/or seizing up inside? I noticed that the steering is becoming tight and it doesn't track back to center well, after turning a corner.
Any other Ideas?
If I remember right, the lower ball joints are pressed in. I assume need heat and a pickle fork to get them out and a press to get them back in...?
You can aslo try taking off the tie rod end on each side with the wheel raised and see if it will turn smoothly by hand, if you have a frozen joint I think you will feel it.
