Im looking at a set of Battery Cables on ebay after reading about them in a different post, If you ebay search "bronco battery cables" you cant miss them. They are for "service" broncos which by that he means police, fire/rescue ect ect. 79.99
Well looking at a set of Motorcraft cables on ebay also, they dont look the same at all. Motorcraft set has some smaller wires coming off it here and there. Does anyone know the exact part number for factory Ford replacement cables for a 1992 (which im asuming is good for 1992-1996)? I called the dealer**** i mean dealership in town and they wanted 150+ and they said there are all kinds of diffrent lengths and had to order them. lame
The Motorcraft part will come as an "assembly" which will have the molded battery terminals with the alternator feed wire and any other smaller wires that are terminated directly at the battery. Any other aftermarket cables will not likely have these wires attached since aftermarket manufacturers try to keep their products in a range of applications rather than getting as specific as a year or two or three that used one length battery cable with a longer or short alternator wire or were different because of a different engine in the same vehicle etc. The OEM battery cable for a 92 with a 302 won't be the same as the OEM cable for the same year with a 300. Motorcraft (being the Ford brand) has the luxury and necessity to produce something that specific while aftermarket manufacturers are more concerned with putting out products that will work across a broader range.
Sorry been a while I had forgotten I had even asked this question. Obviously the 300 six will have a a different set than the 351. In the good ol signature i have written "351w"
Does anyone know the correct part number for a 1992 bronco with a 351w set of battery cables?
