77 f250 bed

hey guys I bought a 79 f150 4x4 back in December and I need a new bed for it and I founf a 77 f250 4x4 bed and I just wanted to make sure that it will fit before I shell out the cash for it.

Will fit. Difference is in the gas filler - no door on the 77.

I'm not too sure it will fit. I think the 1977 f250 4x4 bed might be drilled to fit a narrower frame, whereas your 1979 f150 has a wider frame. I had just the OPPOSITE problem, I was using a wider framed bed (f150) on my 1977 f250 4x4 (narrow frame). All I had to do was weld tabs on my frame to bolt my bed to, I'm not sure where it would line up on yours. I would measure the distance between the back two bed bolts first, just to make sure.

Good beds are getting hard to find, and expensive.

It is going to depend on whether the donor truck is an early 77 or late 77. The early models have the narrower rear frame.

If you aren't sure, like 644speedford says, measuring the bolt holes of the new bed and then those on your frame is the surest way to go.
