Wheel changing

This has me a bit stumped. I am trying to take off 22" wheels that came on my 2000 Ex. and replace them with the originals. Now I have changed many tires before, but after I loosened the lug nuts with a Gorilla adapter, raised the EX and removed the nuts, the tire would not budge. I made sure I had all the nuts off. Is there something special with these fancy, low profile wheels? Thanks.

No, but they may be rusted on the hubs. You may need to get a 2x4 under them, or put a few nuts on loosely and lower the X and maybe turn the steering back and forth. Hopefully that will loosen em.

There is another way...

Lay on your side, under the truck, hit the tire with your biggest slegehammer. You will see the hammer come back at you.

When you wake up, do what wallz said.

Kick the tire with your foot, either side.

If it's really bad you can soak the hub center with PB Blaster or similar and let it sit for a bit. I see it all the time in the shop - we use a hammer and at least one lug on so the wheel doesn't drop off. When you get it off use a wire brush on the hub and lightly on the wheel center to remove the scale. You can use anti-seize on those parts to help prevent it happening again in the future.

Used to drive a tow truck and this happened all the time on cars with aluminum wheels and a flat tire in the rain or snow or freezing rain. What I started to do was this: loosen the wheel nuts just a bit and then move the vehicle back and forth or just forward unil the wheel comes loose from the hub. It always worked eventually. Sometimes would have to loosen wheel nuts off abt. 1/16 of an inch from the hub. Good luck, Ian.
