Well its time to get my parts. Just dont know which ones. Valair or southbend for the solid flywheel? Trans will be out so probably the best time to do downpipe. Anybody have any recommendations on which downpipe? Which glowplugs is everybody going for these days? I have about one that still works lol.
Also getting 6637 kit but thats not really a question
Any suggestions are appreciated, cant wait to get this clutch done so I can drive this thing on a regular basis.
I don't know what IH uses for glow plugs but I'm sure they are ok, most all use motorcraft zd11's I think is the number. Off brands tend to swell in the heads. You can find them online for about 80 bucks.
I really like my tymar dp, 3-4" with straightpipe, no cat or muffler. Good fit
X3 Tymar DP, can't speak for clutch or flywheel... as I have an auto. Stick with motorcraft GP's (possibly international also). Just don't get autolite or knock-off's
If you dont have an IH truck shop near you then maybe u have a schucks near you thats were i got mine, autozone doesnt care them and idk about napa, just tell them you want the zd-11 gp's(motorcraft).
x 2or 3 on the motercraft gp, i had bosh in my but they are $$$$. go with the vallair clutch and flywheel, i tryed to get one from parts store, and 3 of them later ot was good to go. dp i got my from purediesel, and got a stainless for like 125 at my door step, you can get them for 85 and 100 bucks
I just ordered my single mass flywheel and clutch kit, with shipping its $689. Got the next step up over stock clutch but at least its still cheaper than a new DMF by itself.
The ZD9 plugs are for the old 7.3 idi engines. You need ZD11 for your truck. For what it's worth, the International glow plugs are Beru plugs, same as Motorcraft.
