'92 F150 2wd SB Reg Cab...I would like to raise the front end about
1-1/2"(or lower the back). Nothin' radical...just level it up some. What is the best method? I've seen the brackets that fit in the coil springs...and the rubber base pads that the coil springs set on.
What is your opinion? Thanks!!
The best method is to get new coil springs. Skyjacker is the best to get them from, they have 1.5-2" coils for your truck. They are simple to install with a few tools and cost about 130-140 bucks. After you install them, you will need to go and get an alignment. The other method is a good quality spacer that sits on the bottom or top of the spring, but those arn't the best method and are close to the same price.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
I just changed mine for the very same reason. mine set quite a bit lower in the front but was the stock hieght in the back I put a heavy duty set of springs under it and it sets right and looks a lot better. I had never done it before and it took about two hours to complete from start to finish. the springs were 85.00 at napa.
If you don't intend on carrying anything heavy in the bed you can remove the overload springs in the rear and it will drop it about 2 inches. If you change anything in the front end it might affect your ride. And if you add a stabilizer bar to the rear it helps alot when cornering.Anyway good luck.
