Anybody use this stuff on their truck? I purchased a bottle of the synthetic stuff, but I was reading on the bottle and it states to only put 1 quart in the power stroke, but for others it says 1 quart to 4 quarts of oil.
I have had good results using the manufacturers recommended engine oil for 40 years. If the stuff the aftermarket is peddling is such an improvement over the proper engine oil, why do the manufacturers not recommend using it. JMO
i think you are right. I just did some Googling and it says the Lucas product makes the oil foam, which is really bad for our powerstroke engines. So no on the treatment. I'm going to get the Schaeffer 9000 and run it that way.
Technically speaking, the Lucas causes foaming oil in the Powerstroke engines with a HEUI system, which is why Lucas recommends the diluted ratio.
Skip the oil additive and run a good, properly rated oil and change it on schedule and you'll be fine. Schaeffers has some good oil so no worries there.
