My 96 4.0 ranger flashed a po141 code, I replaced the 02 sensor and after about 50 miles the truck flashed another po141 code. I checked the wiring and all looks good. Could the cats be causing the problem? I cant smog this truck, any ideas? Thanks
The P0141 code is for a malfunction of after cat O2 sensors heater circuit. So check for B+ to that O2 sensors heater contacts at it's electrical connector.
The O2 sensor has a heater in it, to quickly bring the sensor up to operating temp, so the computer seems to be unhappy with the after cat O2 sensors heater circuit.
Seeing as how you've replaced the O2 sensor, it's likely you have a B+ feed problem to the O2 sensor, so with your multimeter or a 12 volt test lamp, check for B+ at it's electrical connector at KOEO & see what gives.
Could be a contact, or wiring problem.
Edit: I assume you've replaced the O2 sensor with the specified one that has a heater in it & that the heater in the new sensor is good???
