Well went to move my truck before work and the column shifter broke and i have most of it exposed but i have no clue how to get the tube out or if it can be done none professional, any help will be greatly apperciated. thanks
What year is your truck? Is the column a tilt or non=tilt one?
Looking in my Ranger factory service manual (1991), it looks like the steering column needs to be removed and disassembled to replace the shifter. Depending on the year of your truck, the procedure may or not be the same.
Perhaps a simpler way to solve the problem is to go to a salvage yard and get a replacement column and put that in. I had replaced my column (a fixed one to a tilt one) for about $50.
my truck is a 2000 no tilt steering, ive got most of the dash apart but in cant reach a set of bolts on the rear section gona try dropping the column down to see if i can reach it
