Transfer case questions
Hi guys, couple questions for ya.
1. Any write-ups on removing a transfer case?
I've never done anything with one so really have little idea where to start and didn't find much help searching.
2. Which transfer cases are interchangeable?
My girlfriend's '90 F150 5-speed died this weekend, clutch, transmission and rear diff all are shot according to the shop it was towed to. $4500. She's going to scrap it but said I can take anything off of it that I want. I know the engine (5.0) is stronger than my 5.0, but I'm going to stick with mine for now. Would the transfer case swap? Only difference between our pickups is hers is manual and mine's AOD and super cab.
3. My shift lever is fine other than the crud keeping it from going into low range/neutral. Hers has no definite path to follow and can be moved in any direction, you have to feel for when it goes into gear. Something broke or just different case?
