Hi,
Im new to many things including owning a pickup. I am trying to do my best to bring back my 79 ford f250 supercab. I just fixed the drivers side floor that was rusted out as well as installed weatherstripping on that side. The question I have is. . . Is there a pigtail or harness that goes between the main wiring harness to the hazard relay then to the stop light switch? The previous owner couldnt get the brake lights to work and I found out its because it has no wires. Anyone have any suggestions? Can I direct wire the switch? Haynes manual is somewhat helpful. Anyone know where I can get a pigtail/harness if there is one? They took the hazard relay too ! Thanks in advance.
there should be a double wire coming off the harness under the dash that goes to a switch 0n the brake pedal. It plugs in there to that rocket type switch. The wire you are lookingfor has a square plastic connection on it. When you push the brake it activates the switch allowing current the the brake lights.
I found the connector that comes from the main wiring harness, but that's where it stops. The wires from there to the hazard flasher relay to the brake light switch aren't there. I got the truck like that and am trying to fix it. please let me know. If you have a 73 to 79 f250 and can snap a pic I'd appreciate it.
