Before my truck quit this Thanksgiving I had taken it in to have an alignment done on it because it is wearing tires and I get a shimmy in it at about 45mph. He told me he couldnt do it because that main rod that runs from the passenger side front tire over to a connection on the drivers side. I cant remember what he called it I think I can order one and put it on for about half what he was going to charge me not counting the alignment. Id post pics if I new how. Does any one know what this is called? 2002 F350 dually 7.3 diesel 2wd.
Hmmm... one of your I-beams. I think he's referring to that bushing where it connects to the frame. I'd look into getting some new polyurethane bushings for the "I-beams" as well as the radius arms.
Steering linkage? Could be tie-rod ends, end links for your "drag link" which on a 2wd doubles as part of the tie rod... it's a complicating assy. and has to be just right for it all to align right. Now that's not gonna be cheap...
Track bar sounds right its been a couple of months. He was gonna charge me 425.00 to replace it and the align it. I thought that was a little high but if its that complicated maybe its worth it.

See my last post... I think what he's talking about it the "drag-link end" and then maybe the "tie-rod ends". Bushings are cheap enough... if your truck needs those links, then I'd just look into giving it now end-links and bushings. Tighten it all up and it'll drive nice!
Maybe it is called the main tie rod. On the passenger side he said it takes a round shaped shim. the other end connects to another rod over by the drivers wheel and another rod connects to it about 10 inches from the connection on the drivers side. Your right track bar is not it I found that in my book just now and the pic is not what I have but there are no good pics in my book.
