What if any differences are there in the actual motor design of the 6.8L v-10's of the different years of excursions or super duty trucks i.e. manifold changes, wiring etc.... i am looking at buying a 2000 excursion with a blown motor but have rarely seen these engines on the used market for a semi decent price in Los angeles, thanks.

 

I work in a repair shop in Michigan. We have replaced a couple v-10's for bad engines and have yet to be able to find one used. Reman seems to be the only way to go.

 

I have found a few out here. but they are way too expensive, i could almost get a 7.3 w/ a harness for the same price
