Thanks Dave and Andrew.
Yeah the engine just sat at idle with no response from the throttle. Curious if itl do it again.
Andrew, what was your situation? Did the truck revert back to being ok or did the TPS just quit altogether and you wern't able to drive her?

I ran some Marvel Mystery Oil in my gas to clean up the fuel system. One night, I was going to get some dinner and started my truck. Pulled out into the road and it just bogged down to a crawl then died. Thank goodness it was a week night and no one was driving down that road. I was there for 10 minutes trying to start the engine. The "wrench" light was "ON" in the dash. It finally started but would barely run. I "limped" back to my house and started my research. I had a scanner so I found two codes and everything said it was the Throttle Position Sensor. I contacted Ed and he shipped the part to me. It took about an hour to replace the sensor and it immediately started up. I haven't had any problems since then.

The definition of this code is that the throttle angle is greater than expected. This means that the computer commanded less throttle than there was. This can be caused by a sticking throttle plate or a bad tp sensor/throttle body assembly. I would first clean the throttle body and throttle plate with some carb cleaner, clear the code or disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and see if the code comes back. if not it is fixed. if it comes back then you will probably need to replace the throttle body assembly.

Costs about $500 with labor. Good thing my warranty covered that one.
Whenever I was towing my 5th wheel up grade and pushing the engine, the wrench light came on and power died. Pulled off the road, shut off the engine, restarted the engine and the problem was gone until I pushed it again. Ford dealer said the turbo unison ring was worn. Had it replaced (about $800 job). Tested it today pulling 13,000 lb 5th wheel trailer up steep grade on interstate with pedal on the floor. The problem seems to be solved.
