Which cab?

This will be my first truck (likely going for the ecoboost). I will be carrying a camper. I have more camper options with a 6 1/2 ft bed. I lean to a crewcab (ie middle model) as opposed to supercrew (ie biggest), so the truck does not get too long. At most, 2 people will be in truck. If I get the middle one, how much am I likely to miss the extra interior storage of the large one? Thanks.

The supercab has a decent amount of room. The backseat (seatbottom) is nearly the same size as what's in the SuperCrew, but without all of the additional legroom the SuperCrew provides. You can put two moderately sized adults in the back of the supercab, but they are likely to not want to be back there for more than a 30 minute trip.
If it's going to just be you and another passenger, then you'll likely find the supercab to fit the bill nicely.

Here's the spec sheet for the '11s.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/specs/20...d-f-150-1.html
Looks like the Scab is roughly 33" of rear legroom compared to almost 44" of rear legroom in the SCrew.
The other dimensions are virtually identical.

since you didn't mention a reg. cab, i'm guessing that's not going to be an option. In my opinion, the supercab looks the best with a 6.5 foot bed, the supercrew makes the bed look very small, again, just an opinion. As stated by MCDavis, there is plenty of room for adults in the back for short trips. I've had 2 pretty big guys from work in the back and they didn't seem to have any issues with not having enough room, not that i would have moved my seat for them anyways

I rarely haul people in my truck and I have never had a supercrew/quad cab. I will be on my 5th extended cab (supercab) with my next truck. I much prefer the looks of the extended cab with the 6.5' box over any other option and my back seat is used as a very accessible tool box/storage space 95% of the time. I like how the F150 60/40 back seat has the "60" on the driver's side compared to the F250. That way when full of crap in the back it's easier to allow one person back there on the side with the "40"

The SCab is fairly roomy, but the Crew has way more leg room. The Crew adds about a foot in truck length over the SCab with 6.5' beds.

You could always get an 8' bed if you went for the SuperCab too. You don't sound like you need a SuperCrew for your needs.

I test drove an Scab the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how much room is in the back. Plenty of room to completely lay the front seat back and have a nap or fold up the rear seat bottom and use all that floor space.

I went with a Screw for ease of my children getting themselves in and out without the front doors having to be open first. I am still astonished by all of the room in the back seat. Although my bunker gear and jump bag take up a good portion of it now, it's still huge.

I'd get the Super Crew cab if possible with the 6.5' bed. There's quite a difference between the SCab and the SCrew models. If you have two people sitting back there for any extended time they will appreciate the room.

For storage the Super Crew has way more room. The truck isn't much longer and what you'll be giving up to save overall length isn't worth it.

You wont be saying I sure would have liked more room back there if you buy right the first time.

Not to mention the Screws have a higher resale value. I looked at the Scabs when I purchased but got the Screw since the scab had exterior options I didn't want. The Screws with a 6.5 bed while large are that much more difficult to park, I had a 2000 explorer sport before my 2010 SCREW. The only draw back is it doesn't always fit in a parking space length wise, but I park far away from everyone else so I don't get scratches and dings.

You will lose about 200lbs of payload capacity with the Crew versus the Supercab.

1890lbs vs. 2080lbs.

The Regular Cab gives you 2860lbs of payload capacity.
