I am thinking of buying this truck to save it. The motor was built up a bit (400) at 1 time but wiped out the lower end. Supposed to be all orig including the paint. I have not had the chance to see it in person now the questions
Price he is asking is $1500 & is firm
Factory camper shell?
do you all think it is worth buying & dropping a new motor in it & e-baying it?
if it is as good as it looks think it could pull 5-6K? I am kind of only working part time so I could use some money & it would be nice to see it go to someone who will love it.

Hi John,well..........I had a hard time with the 1977 f150 I had. It was a 351M,orginal paint truck, tried ebay twice. Sold it off ebay, but got my "Buy it now" price.Times are slow, but if someone likes it................ Just my thoughts.Scott
Yes out here in AZ we get spoiled with the no rust thing.
I know that there is no way I can get it for $750. If I could I would be all over it. I am just not to shure about the 2wd value. I am seeing stuff all over the board. My friend just got $6500 a 73 highboy on e-bay that still needed some body work & paint. If it is highly optioned I would think I could make some money & save a real nice truck at the same time. Just not to shure.

2wd or 4x4? What did you get? (if you don't mind me asking) can pm if you dont want to post it.
The buyers on ebay are fickle, some trucks that look like they shouldnt get a 2nd look will have heavy bidding and some that look like they will bring big $ hardly ever get a bid. 4x4 always seem to do better than avg but if they are hacked up then they dont do so well.
i cant stand when people do this. just leave it there for someone who wants to fix it and enjoy it. with times being as tough as they are, stuff is at an all time low, i doubt theres any meat left on that bone to make any money.
For that truck $750 would be a low ball offer around here. The prices for these trucks vary a lot depending where you look for them. Where i live they are priced pretty high. I bought my 75 f100 4x4 with a 390 on 35's for $1650 in cleveland. Most of the bottom of the cab had been patched up, the bed floor is rotting, the tranny needs rebuilt though drivable. The drivers side rear leaf spring was only attached to the frame on one end. But that's a typical price for a truck like that here. I wouldn't go any lower the $1000 for the one you're looking at seeing after seeing the pictures.
I bought a truck very similar to that about 14 months ago....
The truck is a 1977 F-250 2wd Ranger XLT from southern California. It did not have the factory camper shell, but the engine ran reasonably well. It had the original paint. It also had several relatively small dents and all of its original trim, including the two aluminum tailgate panels .
It's very difficult to tell from the photos you posted, but my "gut" feeling is the one you are looking at is in slightly nicer shape. However vehicles ALWAYS look better in pictures.
I wanted a "donor body" and I paid $750.00 for it.

Well I am not fighting other people for it. It has been listed for a few weeks. I am sorry that this might offend you but that is your problem. I am looking at all options to make ends meet & if I can do that & save a nice truck what is the harm?
& thanks for all the input everybody. I will just wait & see if I can get down there.
