4 Wheel drive problems
Hello all, I am a new comer to this web-site and I am having some serious problems with my 97' F350 4 wheel drive I believe. My four wheel drive has been out for quite some time and I think it is engaging while I am driving. The other night I was heading out of town and all of a sudden a loud gear grinding sound was made. I pulled over and looked for fluids and nothing. Now when it hits 50 mph it feels like a governor is kicking in. It almost feels like it is staying in 4 Low and then disengages while I am driving. It tends to shift back and forth from low to high and high to low. What is going on? I do have auto hubs that haven't worked for over 3 months and I haven't had any problems driving normally until now. I had the transmission rebuilt 25,000 miles ago and so I don't think this could be the problem. I had planned on coverting to manual hubs, but I haven't had the time to do so. Is my 4 wheel drive staying locked or could it be my trainy again? PLEASE HELP I NEED THIS TRUCK RUNNING AGAIN!!!
